Description:

The Russian Krivak Class II frigate BPK Rezvyy 916 most likely photographed in the English Channel. Rezvyy means FRISKY in Russian. This is a scan of an old Skyfotos negative that I acquired with no copyright attached.

Hi - Many Thanks for that - I will make the necessary amendments. I always assumed that all Soviet warships had the prefix SNS (Soviet Naval Ship).

Not in the Soviet Navy itself they did. I think SNS was only used by Western observers. The Soviets used a different abbreviation for each ship type and so a large ASW frigate like the Krivaks was known as a "large anti-submarine ship" or BPK in the Russian abbreviation.
