Description:

Polish REKIN is here seen at Busan in December 1991.
This stern trawler was built 1976 at Gdansk for P.P.D. "Gryf", Szczecin.
She was sold 2002 to Russia and renamed MYS BLIGAN.
Reported broken up in 2004.

Thanks for this information, WUKA54. Then I understand she became russian already in 2000; two years before she changed name to MYS BLIGAN.

Yes . At the end of the 20th century, Polish fishing companies ceased to exist. At that time, very strange contacts were made and new companies were established. Managers often acted to the detriment of the companies they managed. The chartering of ships and their subsequent takeover by the charterers were no exceptions. In this way, m/t REKIN was probably taken over by a Russian shipowner. It is difficult to find any more detailed data. Kompania GRYF Szczeci has not existed for a long time.
