Thanks Vlad -much appreciated.I thought she looked small compared to the previous 170,000 gross Maersk ships ?

I could certainly comment on her design, but this is one fantastic photo!

Hi Lappino!
To me the concept of the "Ane Maersk" looks like a contemporary version of the 1960s MARAD design C5-S-73b (Sea Witch class) of the US shipping companies American Export-Isbrandtsen Lines and United States Lines. I would almost say that everything is coming back in fashion and shipbuilding. :-)
All the best,
Stefan

True, they say that all new things are just well forgotten old ones... The basis for her design was maximizing the cargo space under given dimensions, but they ended up creating something very similar to the old '60es design.

Cheers

Hi Vlad! I just came across this one:

I remembered our conversation here and concluded, that some apparently new things were not completely forgotten after all :-)
All the best,
Stefan
