Justified question, Csaba. Location and the number of sails set give the answer. You would want to think twice before you let a squarerigger of that size in the vicinity of Tivat run free under sail alone. More to the point, the staysails, as seen here, can not really generate enough power to allow the vessel any progress without the engines. There is a lot of show in this business, but what we probably are seeing is preparations to sail "for real" once she comes into open waters outside the bay.

Jim, I am aware that she has an engine, my question was regarding this particular place and time.

Very nice photo :-). Is she using sails for propulsion at this point or are they up just for show and she is underway using engines?
