Description:

The 1959 Port Glasgow built GOLDEN ARROW, owned by John Mavris (Golden Fleet Navigation Co. S.A., Piraeus, in partnership with Elias G.Spanos) sailing from Rotterdam on 22nd May 1975 (my 27th birthday). She was bound for Santos via Antwerp.

GOLDEN ARROW suffered a flooded engine room off Hodeidah in October 1976 and eventually found her way from there to breakers at Gadani Beach, arriving on 7th December 1978

Denis: the voyage information is mainly derived from Lloyds' Shipping Indexes and Voyage Records.
Exceptionally, some information was derived from a detailed record of shipping movements at Avonmouth in 1963/64 compiled at the time by my good friend from Bristol, Ray Perry.
In 1975/6, I was working in Oslo for Barber Lines
