Description:

In Long Reach, Thames 7/10/1968 discharging liquid (probably either palm oil or latex) into tank lighters. 7,969 grt; 9,170dwt. Operator: Ocean Steamship Co Ltd (Blue Funnel Line), Liverpool. Built 1957 by Vickers Armstrong (Shipbuilders) Ltd, High Walker, Newcastle. Main engine: six-cylinder, two-stroke, opposed piston Burmeister & Wain 6-75VTBF-150/50 of 8,000 bhp at 120 rpm. Speed: 15 knots. 1972-renamed DARDANUS (Blue Funnel). 1972-sold to Nan Yang Shipping Co, Macau as KAIGO (Somali flag); then to Chinese-controlled/Hong Kong based Ocean Tramping Co with same name but Panama flag. 1982-to breakers at Calcutta, India.
