Description:
The 1953 Ingalls Shipbuilding of Pascagoula, United States built C4-S-1a Type General Cargo Ship MAGNOLIA MARINER of American President Lines seen in San Francisco, United States in a shot taken sometime between 1953 and 1956.
Originally built for the U.S. Maritime Administration in 1953, she was sold to American President Lines in 1957. She was renamed PRESIDENT GARFIELD in 1959, and was modernized in the early 1970s. She was sold out of the fleet to Waterman SS Corp in 1974, and was renamed SAMUEL CHASE.
She arrived at Kaohsiung, Taiwan to be scrapped by Chien Yu Steel Industrial Co on June 8th, 1980.
