Description:
Between 1951 and 1953, Bock, Godeffroy & Co. of Hamburg took delivery from Flenderwerke Lübeck of four new ships named Athen, Galata, Libanon and Cairo. Here is the 1952 built LIBANON, employed on Deutsche Nah-Ost Linie services, passing Hoek van Holland, outbound from Rotterdam on 2nd May 1975 for Alexandria.
In April 1979, following eight years owned by Colocotronis with a charter back to Oetker, she arrived at Gadani Beach for scrapping.
