Passenger M/V Be-Schuitje (former East German M/V Seebad Zingst), which had served as M/V Klaus Stortebeker in Stralsund), ran aground in the Orth bight off the island Fehmarn, Germany while transiting to the Netherlands on Sep 10, 2007. The captain had intended to stay at anchor during the night, but his ship drifted aground in a depth of only 80 centimetres. As the weather conditions worsened, rescue vessels John T. Essberger and Heiligenhafen were able to refloat M/V Be-Schuitje. From our Sr. Correspondent Tim Schwabedissen (Wed. Sept. 12 2007)
