Description:
Berthed at Bideford in North Devon on June 25th,2008,was the 94gt.ex Admiralty tender JOHN ADAMS. Built by Richard Dunston at Thorne in 1934 she was based at Hawlbowline Harbour, Cork until transferred to the Irish navy in 1938. She was brought to Bideford some years ago by the late Peter Herbert.

Built by Richard Dunston, Thorne in 1934 for the Admiralty for service as a dockyard tender at Haulbowline, Cork Harbour and transferred to the Irish Government in 1938/9 and operated by the Irish Navy.

Many years ago she was bought by the late Peter Herbert and brought to Bideford for restoration. That remained unfinished at his death. It looks as if some more recent work has been done on her.
