Elder Dempster Lines AUREOL seen in the River Itchen shortly after departing berths 30/31 on the Test Quays.

Berths 30/31 was the traditional berths for Royal Mail Line, Shaw Savill Line and from early 1972 Elder Dempster Line after the latter transferred their West African service from the Port of Liverpool to the Port of Southampton after the closure of the Liverpool Landing Stage the year before.
