Description:
TAMAMONTA is seen passing Terneuzen on 12.10.01, outbound from Antwerp for Aqaba and thence to Alang where she arrived on 16.1.02 to be broken up.
Built by Scotts of Greenock, this vessel was launched on 19.2.80 as MYRMIDON for the Ocean Group. Briefly renamed CAPE TOWN CARRIER in 1984 for a charter out, she was sold in 1986 to Nigerian Green Lines and renamed BELLO FOLAWIYO.
In 1989 she was sold to Cenargo (and managed by V Ships) and immediately chartered out to Cie. Maritime Belge to become CMB EXPORTER.
On completion of this charter in 1990 she became MERCHANT PROMISE before taking the name LANKA AMILA in 1992/3 while chartered out to Ceylon, reverting in 1993 to the name MERCHANT PROMISE.
In 1994 she was sold to Tamahine Shipping and renamed TAMAMONTA.
