German naval vessels FGS Sachsen F219 and FGS Frankfurt am Main A1412 at HMC Dockyard,Halifax,Nova Scotia photographed below Fort George,the Halifax Citadel ,on 20th May 2009.
FGS Sachsen is based out of Wilhelmshaven. It is the first of the 124 Class Air Defence Frigate. Sachsen commissioned November 2004.She is named after the Federal State of Germany.
FGS Frankfurt am Main is one of two German Combat Support ships commissioned in 2002.The ship provides support ranging from fuel, provisions, spare parts and medical care.
