At the moment worlds biggest TSHD (Trailer suction hopper dredger) made at the yard in Spain. Hopper capacity 46.000 m3 ! Length 223 m, able to dredge till 155 meters depth.
The world’s largest suction dredge is to arrive at in Campamento on March 10th for final refurbishment before being put to work. The ‘Cristóbal Colón, at 283 metres in length, 41 in width and weighing 78,000 tonnes, is to be ‘finished off’ at the Cernaval shipyard. Built at the La Naval yard in Sestao, Vizcaya, after a years’ work and an investment of €175 million, was launched on July 4th last year.
