King/Clan Line's 1958 Belfast built KING HENRY is seen passing Portishead fifty years ago today, on 23rd August 1965, outbound from Avonmouth for Manchester on a voyage from Chittagong to, eventually, London and Antwerp.
Later: 1972 AFRICAN LION - 1981 KLADITIS EMMANUEL
November 1982: renamed VERBIER for a last loaded voyage from Mersin to Karachi and then to breakers at nearby Gadani Beach where she was beached on 14th April 1983
