Description:

Completed for Australia/Japan service in 8.70 as Arafura, renamed Chitral in 1991 and joined the parallel "CSCS" service from New Zealand. In doing so she replaced her former Australian trade fleetmate Ariake that had been renamed Aotea. T/f'd within the P&O Group in 1996, she was renamed Matilda Bay and continued in NZ trade on their service to Mediterranaean ports, but only for a few voyages and switched to the NZ/Singapore/SE Asia trade. When the P&O Nedlloyd merger occurred, she was renamed P&O Nedlloyd Tauranga and continued on the eastern service until she was broken up in China in April 2002. Made 93 voyages to Napier under the 3 names from 1991 until her demise, making her final departure on 18 March 2002.

Great Photo Brent,
She looked a whole lot better in white but this is a great shot of her later in life, they look massive but are really small in today's world, thanks for sharing.
